We went to PAH on saturday to get some more Supa Guinea and the chap I bought Angel from said they had two rescue piggies bought in that morning. Some bloke just walked in and left them there. He knows me and Tuk are pig-mad so he took us to see them - two boys - one healthy (if a bit skinny looking) cross breed and a black and tan Peruvian who was in a terrible state, his fur was half long, half short and matted, he had crusty eyes and poo all dried up and stuck in his feet. We had a cuddle and he was so good natured... We so want to bring them home but I don't know if we have enough time to dedicate to ten piggies

Go and get them at least they would have a good home with you. Someone else might get them and not give them the love and attention they need. I have 7 piggies and a rabbit plus 3 x fish tanks , land hermit crabs a dog and a cockatiel. I would try to help them if it was me its only a couple more mouths to feed.

awww really tricky as you are being sensible wondering if you do have the time.. Im ruled by my heart not my head so i know they would have been in my car ! with a grumpy husband ha ha !! I know alot of the peeps on here have 40 plus piggies and that is Amazing but i have 8 at the mo and possibly going to become ten ! today 8 is fine to keep on top of ! but is a bit extra cash with the bedding hay vegies n stuff ! but not heaps - Tanya & Amanda told me about a food pellet that you can purchase from zoo plus website called Tima mega C and it is really worth buying a big bag It lasts AGES and my piggies LOve it so happy piggies happy wallett ha ha !!!!! I hope you come to the right decision for you all keep us all informed

What poor little piggy's I think if it were me I would take them give them a jolly good pampering and then find the right home for them if I couldnt keep them, simply because p@h aren't that great at vetting new owners and I would hate them to be in the same position a couple of months down the line.

It's so easy in these circumstances to just grab the piggies and take them home For what it's worth my advice would be to think about it carefully if only because, if you did overstretch yourself in time and/or funds, it could have a detrimental impact on your existing 8 piggies who ought to come first (just my personal opinion of course). Such a shame that heads and hearts aren't often on the same side! I'm sure that, whatever you decide, will be right

Hi babe If you do go and get them then dont put them anywhere nere your pigs as they may have something that your piggies could get from them. Keep them in another room or somthing for at lest 4 weeks. I know just how hard it is just to leave them they I am always taking in unwanted piggies. Good luck and please let us all know what happens. Tanya

Well, after much deliberation and discussion me and tuk have decided that it would be irresponsible of us to have any more piggles at the moment It wouldn't be fair as we wouldn't have time to give all of them the attention they deserve. Unfortunately it still hasn't stopped us from wanting them

I don't doubt it must have been difficult but it sounds as though you made the right decision for the right reason. I'm sure the two piggies will still find a good home

(( hugs )) Must be very hard but I also think you have made the right decision as the best one is whats best for you all. I'll go along with that, but I know what you mean - and I only have the two of them.... Go and cuddle Bo till that feeling goes away.

Aww it will be alright That type of situation is always hard. But if you know in your heart that you can't fully take care of them then you are making the right decision. It will be alright...someone will come along and help them out I'm sure.

thanks guys, you've made me feel a little less guilty about it xx Ell, if I could take home every single homeless or broken guinea pig on this island, I would. But the fact is we're already giving our time, money and love to pigs that otherwise might not have had a nice home. I'm already doing my bit for piggy-kind, and so are you. Please don't feel bad... you're making sure you can continue to care for the ones you already have, and as my dad says, they come first. We can't take them all home... nobody, no matter how much they adore piggies, can support all of them. You've made the right decision.
