I've been thinking a lot about this thread, and although it breaks your heart, I'm sure you did the right thing - there has to be a limit somewhere, and I know you would have rescued piggies that were literally homeless, but these two were at least in care.
What surprises me is that people can ignore them to the point of ill treatment, and then show some sort of vague and twisted sense of responsibility by giving them to a petshop or to someone that they know keeps guinea pigs, rather than just let them loose somewhere. Thank God for guilty consciences!

That guy in the shop who was there when you got Angel obviously took the time to remember you and find out if you were interested in these piggies so he obviously has their interests at heart. It is sad to think they have been abandoned but they could be in much worse places.

I really feel for you but you have to count on the fact that there ARE people out there who care about piggies as much as we do and they will find lovely homes and be spoilt rotten. I do know that at most of the Adoption Centres they work pretty hard to ensure the animals don't end up right back with them but they do have an open ended return policy so if the people adopting them can't care for them they're returned. But this is highly unlikely. It IS very hard, but you have to trust they will find fabulous homes - otherwise you will go insane. And although the person who dumped them is pretty irresponsible, at least they were dumped somewhere they could be helped instead of a skip

I do hope they have found good homes. The guy who showed them to us was adamant they would not be separated as they came in together and said they were really close. I haven't been back to PAH since but next time I do I'll be asking after them!
