No Folic acid required.
Just plenty of good vegtables, hay and her pellets.

Hi Pigpog, all quiet on the baby front. I am actually getting nervous now though. Coco looks fit and happy, eating all her veggies and getting fatter everyday. I havent seen a pregnant guinea pig before so Im not sure how big she will get. I think she probably has two or three weeks left as Im not sure of conception date. Now I have the dilemma of what to do with the babies when she has them. I want to keep them but husband being the voice of reason says "we already have 10, what do we do when we need to go on holiday" (it cost us £80 for two GP's for two weeks this year, so 10-12 would cost more than it would cost for us to on holiday ourselves!), so he has a point I suppose. But still I cant bear the thought of giving them away, it would just break my heart, and maybe hers too, it might be nice for her to keep some of her babies, Maybe im being to emotional about it. any hoooo, I'll have to wait and see and make my mind up then. have you given up babies yours have had? is it hard?

Mary-Rose had four babies, and I have to confess we kept all four.
You could always keep one little sow to keep with mum and dad, now he's been "done"
We have to face selling the baby degus very soon, but we will be keeping at least one of the girls.

Ah thanks Bob. I think im fairly biased but I do agree, she just looks ssoooooo lovely. She really is an absolute sweetie. Thanks Doris, that makes me feel better, ;D so depending on how many and whether its boys/girls, I am pretty sure I will keep at least one girl to stay with her mum and dad. I feel for you with the baby Degus though, thats a tough decision. I think i would be happy if my babies went to people I knew but strangers would get the spanish inquisition before I let them go! nobody would be good enough and I would end up keeping them all. Clearly I would be a rubbish breeder
