Well I had Toby and Tulia out the other day and I have noticed they shed like crazy!! I mean hair just almost seeming like falling out. I mean there is no balding out or anything but....I'm just a bit confused. Toby actually sheds like...all the time. I'm not sure why though...if anyone has any ideas...please just share.

Yeah, my Fred in particular seem to lose lots of hair every time I stroke him, let alone brush him, but it's not from any one area and he's still got a lovely fur coat on him, so I just put it down to general moulting. He's got no skin problems. I am quite sure he's perfectly normal, or at least as normal as a philosopher can be

I have a couple who moult like mad. My Silvia almost has fur dropping out as you stroke her, especially around her bottom area. She's fine though, nothing wrong with her skin or anything, she just loses a lot of fur all year round.

Most of ours moult all year round, some more than others. Apart from Angel, whether thats because shes long haired or because she's determined to hang on to it now its growing back i'm not sure...

Grab yourself a pig and I shall explain. If you pinch some fur between your fingers you will see you will have two lengths to the fur. All the longer hairs are guard hairs, and generally these are the ones that fall out. These are the ones that you groom out when showing in pures.
