Hi Doris, Thank you so much for the information. I am really looking forward to going to see the show and have a look at all the piggies. ;D Couple of questions: 1. Do you have to be a member of something to be able to attend? 2. Can anyone put in a guinea pig or do you have to be professional? 3. I will contact Kent Cavy club to enter but have no clue what I would be entering. If I can work out how to post pictures, would you be able to tell me what my piggies are? Thanks loads Lisa

You don't need to be a member, or a professional (not sure there is such a thing as a professional ) Yes, I can try and tell you where to enter what, I imagine you are starting out in pets, or do you have a pure bred you wanted to enter into a breed class?

The breeder I got the babies from said that Lulu is a Crested Pet. Black and white. Sausage is a Tri-pet, Kenny is abyurivian pet brown/white, mouse is pink eyed lilac/white. Daisy and Cookie I think are english crested. Im guessing that they are all pets. I will try to work out how to put photos on here so that should make it much easier. thank you very much for your time on this.

Yep, sounds like they are all pets. If they are all crested or aby then they would go in rough pets, although Kent sometimes does have a seperate class for the cresteds. Also need ages, there are 3 categories. 3-5 months, 5-8 months, and over 8 months (adult) It is also seperated out into Boar/Sow. If you manage to post pictures, and put age and sex down, I will make a list of what you need to send to Maggie. No problem with helping at all - I have banned bob from looking at this thread as he is judging

Rows of cages with the likes of 'Fingers McBoar', 'Machine Gun Tiggy', ' Slasher Ted', 'Cool Hand Whiskers' et al. Some with eye patches but most with flick knives or small coshes Best of luck to Bob is what I say - I hope he is wearing his stab proof vest

Oh Mr M you make me "rough" is refering to the coat, so anything with a crest, rosettes, swirls or in some clubs long hair is considered "rough" No knives etc involved

I'll see about reinstating it - don't really want to refund 'cos it was a sellout with the locals (mostly piggies, hamsters, gerbils and the odd rat) I was just concerned for your hubby's welfare - I could see a very large and unpleasant porker (probably Fingers McBoar) pinning Bob up against a wall and demanding a rosette with menace

Nelson Mandela, U2 and The Sowpremes (Vlad's support acts) are ok now with those reassurances but Vlad himself is still a bit jumpy about travelling to the Garden of England However, I've hired a security firm run by a couple of large shifty badgers and a rat (with a limp and only half a tail) and Vlad, who will be chaperoned by a pair of vicious looking coypu, has now agreed to the concert - he's such a prima donna

heres Lulu. Definitely crested, black and white with tiny bit of yellowy/brown by her eye. Approx 3-4 months old. Sow heres Sausage about 3-4 months old. not crested. boar here's Cookie, definitely crested. poss 3 years old. sow heres Daisy, sow, poss 3 years old. crested heres Kenny - Aby Peruvian X, boar lastly, little miss Mouse. Sow, pinky eyed lilac and brown, 3-4 months. I have the two himis now but I am as sure as i can be that they are chocolate rather than black, and at least 3 years old. Any help confirming these breeds and what I need to put on the showing form would be very cool. thanks loads guys.

Ok, it all depends if Kent has a crested class or not. If it doesn't you will enter the following (fairly sure it doesn't):
Lulu Under 5 Rough sow Sausage Under 5 smooth boar Cookie Adult Rough Sow Daisy Adult Rough Sow Kenny (I assume a youngster) Under 5 Rough Boar Miss Mouse Under 5 Smooth Sow.
As for the himmies, if the sow you suspect is pregnant, don't enter her, she will be disqualified if shes found to be pregnant on the judging table, and its not nice for her if she is. The boar on the other hand, I personally would enter him in pures, if his points are well defined. Post a picture here, I should be able to tell if he is black or choc, and will also be able to tell you which class to enter him into.
If when you email Maggie your entries you explain that its your first time, and note which pets are crested, she will be able to help you if there is a crested class. She is very nice, she was wonderful when we first started out.

Hi Doris, thanks again for all this info. I will take pictures of the himis this weekend so we can debate what they are and whether she is pregnant. I am waiting for a reply from the breeder for their ages and how long she thinks the sow might have been pregnant for. I will keep you posted.

You don't need a form, just send the information of what you have got in an email to maggie and she will do the rest.
