I used woodshavings for years but never liked the dust. Even the dust-extracted bales were dusty and made my piggies cough. I also found that woodshavings irritate my skin a bit, so not so good for me. The horse-sized bales are cheap though at £8.99 per compressed bale. I don't think my boars like woodshavings either because the bits get stuck between their family jewels.

i have girl piggies and i use wood shavings and have done so for years. it is dusty and makes us cough and the piggies cough but it is either woodshavings or towels in oz as none of the other bedding mentioned on this forum are available here in south oz. piggies get a raw deal over here. should have a piggy rebelion! marching down the street waddling their bottoms and over take the country and tomorrow the world
