I had an idea.... my single boars aren't taking to Charlie White, so what if I had his nuts off and gave him Freya to live with? Freya's only a couple of months older perhaps and I've got a spare hutch. They're both under a year old I reckon, and it worked for Spike and Hetty, so perhaps it would work for Charlie and Freya. Either that or Charlie's going to live alone, which I don't want to do if I can help it.

I'd say go for it, seeing as though you do have a very good success rate with neutered boars. Your only other option is a baby (and I mean real youngun) boar. And you're very lucky in that you have found a decent vet!! (can you clone him? )

If I could clone Ian and share him around I would because he's an awesome vet. I refuse to let anyone else neuter my boars, especially as I wasn't happy with the only two boars he didn't do (they survived the experience but the first was messy and the second was sedated to the point of falling over and contracted an infection). I'm also highly impressed with his theatre methods for this particular operation and he's very thorough and keeps good contact with me. I really like John too (he gave me the opthalmascope, which I shall photograph soon) and he's great for general consultations but Ian wins hands down for neuterings. I had thought of a baby, but we're stretched at 29 and I think Simon would bury me at the bottom of the garden if we got another one.

While you are about it clone John too I see what you mean about a baby, although I don't think Simon would bury you somehow

Freya lives with three other sows and a neutered boar. I think she's bottom of the food chain in her group so I don't think sticking her in with a neutered Charlie would make much of a difference to her. 30 is a nice round number, but then so is 10 which is the number of years I've been with Simon, and I'd like to make it to eleven!!!

Ah bless him, Nuts off definitely. Got to be better to be living with a lovely lady than sitting on your own with your nuts! He sounds like he's in good hands so I wish Charlie the best of luck.
