I now went to check on my guinea pigs and one of my sows Fergie has lost 3 fully formed quite big babies no fur they were stone cold 2 still in sac the other one was out it would have been as gorgeous black and white baby. Why would this have happened i didnt even think she was too far gone i only felt flutters in her belly 2 days ago. I now have the sow indoors with her cage mate will she be ok? obviously i will not put her through the trauma of pregnancy again would it happen to her again im not risking it. I still have 2 other sows Missy and Avril that are due up unitil the end of this month. Fingers crossed they will be ok. Any thoughts welcome i feel so bad RIP little babies

So sorry to hear about Fergie losing her babies I can't offer any advice myself but I am sure that someone with the knowledge and experience will be along soon.

Having now found this post after your other post, you could put the sow that miscarried in with the heavily pregnant one, that way you have no risk of the third sow littering early because of it.
Keep an eye on the sow that miscarried, but its probably one of those things.

Thanks Fergie is a bit quiet this morning. Avril my other sow is due soon so should i put Fergie in with her and put Missy my other pregnant sow in with someone else. I dont want Missy to have her litter early as she is living with heavily pregnant Avril. Not sure when Missy is due but she may be having a smaller litter. They were both put with my male on the same day so Missy could be due anytime now up untill the 25th Nov.
Back to poor Fergies babies there was actually 4 when i checked 1 wasnt as developed as the others. I think they were premature as they had no fur and their eyes were fused shut. One of the babies was out of its sack so poor Fergie must have tried to help it. Its cleaning out day 2day so i will a change around and put Fergie in with Avril. Not gonna pick heavily pregnant Avril up as dont want another miscarriage. I will clean out around her.

Sounds like you have it sussed to me, putting the one thats miscarried with the one thats very pregnant is the best option. She'll hopefully help the pregnant one give birth, and will get the zest of life back because she has a few babies to cuddle. (non pregnant females will quite happily, in general baby sit others babies. Lexie babysat for Mary-Rose - Lexie has as far as I know never had a litter, I even have pictures of her with Mary-Roses' litter even though shes not the mummy pig ).
As for picking up the pregnant one, it should be fine at this stage, just make sure you support her under the tummy well, use two hands from underneath. You may find a cushion or similar may be useful to sit her on, as this will offer support from underneath where she needs it.
When you say she is due until the 25th, this confuses me a little. Generally, we would count from the day you put the boar in, 75 days, this gives an earliest due date. There is no latest due date as she could carry for longer (some sows do - with small litters) or she might not of been caught right away. Dates are just a guideline, as my father put it once "They'll come when they are cooked!"

On another forum someone worked out the date for me but this isnt always right i know. I have just cleaned out the piggies and had a move around. Avril (heavily pregnant sow) did not like sharing with Fergie so she is on her own and i have put Fergie in with Missy who is also pregnant and they are getting along fine. Fergie is alot happier now standing up the cage even. Avril can still see the other 2 through the cage bars so im hoping she will be ok on her own untill she has her babies.

She should be fine on her own - some sows just prefer their own company.
