I may have been told this when I collected them, but if so I wasnt listening (bowled over by their beauty) . Last night when I was putting Hugo back I thought, well I know he's got a big bottom (and Victor's is fluffier anyway), but I dont see any obvious sign of teabags as PigPog so adorably calls them! So they were upended during today's cuddle, much to their disgust , and no, they have no teabags! Don't know when, maybe their last owners had them done. Do you think that is another reason for them being so big? What difference do you think this will have for them mingling with Fred & George - who are au naturel

It wont make any difference to them mingling with the lads because neutering doesn't change their behaviour but if they are laid back piggy's any way they may all just get on in the run but I would be cautious as I think about this for my boys at times and then I think if Ronald and Donald my old boys fell out I would be devastated so I don't want to risk it.
They deficiently have the other bits tho yes?

As in 'are they definitely boys,' yes! But always wise to ask. I'm not actually planning on letting them mingle. But I wondered... it might be easier on holiday, for instance. But I've got them in the upstairs run and now they're mincing around like Sir L-B, I'm not quite so sure of Hugo!
Another look, then a check when they go for a check up with the vet sometime!
I registered them with my vet this morning.

Some rescues do neuter boars as standard, it could be that. the only advantage of neutering is that they can run with sows without making miniatures

I know Vikki mentioned it but the bit of the conversation I remembered was that she wouldnt normally have it done.....

All of my neuters are bumpless in the undercarriage area. They do obviously still have their winkies, but their maltesers are gone and nothing drags behind them anymore! It sounds like they might well have been done - I'd make a trip to the vet for confirmation if you want to be sure of their medical history, otherwise they should be fine kept as they are. I wouldn't put them with F&G for playtime because they might still decide to eat eachother (as Lisa has already said). Having said that, I do occasionally get a boar who wasn't blessed in the teabag area and spends his life with a pair of peas instead.

Yes, I cant decide without up-ending Hugo some more whether he is just, um, small, or neutered and he is seriously cross with me for having up-ended him yesterday! With Victor he's pretty fluffy, so hard to see at a distance. I could phone Vikki again of course..... But I'll take them for a check up in a few weeks anyway (and George for a teeth check and general admiration from his lifesaving team!)

It was a big step for me to have two in the first place, so taking on two more was a similarly huge step. I'm only in the first week with them (amazingly, so much has happened this week!) and I'm still adjusting to life with more piggies. Thanks to Meggipiggy I had a nice wheek with her about how I felt, because it felt quite strange to be cuddling other pigs in front of Fred & George.... But I've got over the guilty feeling, and give them alternate days in the upstairs run rather than trying to be completely fair about everything. Fred & George are my first loves, and I still...... (That'll test the music lovers to find where that quote comes from!)

(That'll test the music lovers to find where that quote comes from!) Mrs M is very good at the listening therapy - I recall an excellent bit of counselling from her when Vlad's last world tour didn't quite make the 10 million profit I had envisaged ..... I am sure Fred and George will eventually warm to the boys Mark 2. Before you know where you are all four of them will be off down the village pub in their mini. It's when they bring back the sows for a DVD and a herb curry that you have to worry Once the five of you are all tucked up on the sofa watching Strictly Come Cavying the 'guilt' will all be a distant memory Oh, and Mrs M thinks the song may have something to do with Lionel Richie and Diana Ross (without the Sowpremes!)

Hi I can confirm that Victor and Hugo still have their 'tea bags', we don't neuter boars unless it is a necessity I think their portly size hides their virtues. LOL They look very happily settled in and I will give you a ring soon to arrange a post homing visit. So glad the boys found you it just seemed a match made in heaven, they definately fell on their feet. Look forward to chatting soon and you were very brave coming in all that snow! Vikki x

Hi Vikki! Great to see you here!
Well, I upended George yesterday and couldnt see his from that angle either, so I was coming round to thinking they are both still entire.
They've both been weighed this morning and much to my surprise Hugo is only 30gms more than Fred and Victor only 30gms more than George - that's only about an ounce in old measures. I wonder why they seem so much bigger to me - its not just the cage sizes...they sit heavier on my front!
When I have an extra pair of hands used to piggies with me I'll line them all up together and take some photos......
