Title says it all really! The play pen arrived today for the girls and I was wondering if they can go out - not this afternoon as it's too late now and cooling down (it's almost 3), but on other sunny days can I put the pen up on the patio and put them outside with some hay so they get a change of scenery? Also, can they go on the grass as long as it's not sopping wet (never completely dry at this time of year is it). Just obviously want to do the best I can for them but obviously won't do anything I shouldn't be doing. Problem is I'm so new to all of this that I don't know what I should or shouldn't be doing In a few months time I'm sure all these early days will be forgotten and I'll be much more confident in looking after them and not leaning on you guys so much - but in the meantime many thanks to you all

On a dry day with NO WIND (they do not like drafts) as long as it didn't feel too cold you could put them out for maybe 20 minutes, I wouldn't risk any longer this time of year. I put mine in the run on days like this just whilst I'm cleaning their cage. I do know of someone who left three pigs out on an evening in the summer, they forgot about them and it was dark when they got them in, one died (heart attack i suspect) as she put it back in the cage. So I suggest very short periods in cooler weather.

Thanks for that Amanda - think I'll keep them inside then as I'd hate for anything to happen to them, they're so little and vulnerable to the cold. Plenty of time for them to go out once spring comes (not that I'm wishing my time away!)

Mine are indoor piggies so I dont put them outside now. But I pick wet grass for them and they dont seem to mind that it's past its best!
