I don't think my piggy Humphrey is very well: he's been coughing really violently and seems to have trouble chewing. He pulls out his friends hair and chews it up so could he have fur balls? I've never heard of anything like this before. When he chews he sometimes looks like he's choking or having trouble swallowing and his head turns from side to side. I've been thinking, could I give him cod liver oil, or some other remedy? Should I take him to the vet? mdse 33333333333qqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq cx <-------- that was Humphrey, he's a Himi so he loves typing and jumping about!

I personally would take him to see the vet as he may have an obstruction that needs removing. That's what I would do if any of mine were coughing hard and moving their heads from side to side. I think the vet needs to have a look down his throat.

I agree with Pig pog, sounds like he might have something in his throat.
The fact he is not eating properly means he needs to see a vet ASAP, as they need to eat little and often because of the way their digestion works.

(This is Humphrey) Thanks guys, he's eating fine, in fact a lot, it's just that a couple of times a day he does this coughing choking thing. I will take him to the vet tomorrow, I agree he does need someone to check his throat. Thanks xx Reason for Editing: edited to show picture - bob

George was doing something like that - turning his head from side to side and looking like he was retching, although not making a coughing noise, when he had teeth problems that had made his tongue sore.
So, it does sound like a check up, and the sooner the better because eventually George's tongue was so sore he lost a lot of weight in a very short space of time. (and then this whole abcess episode began - see George is Unwell, followed by George's progress, followed by George is going into hospital, followed by the Boys are back in Town - if you want the whole sorry story - and its not over yet).
I hope he's ok though and its nothing serious. He's a gorgeous piggy - I definitely have a soft spot for himis!

I hope Humphrey is OK. Let us know what the vet says. Oh, and yes, he does have a cheeky little face. I just LOVE Himis too.
