The breeder of my piggies uses this feed but I've seen that you shouldn't use rabbit food for piggies - is it OK to stick with it do you think or did I ought to switch to piggie pellets?
Thank you!

Rabbit royal is ok as long as you feed lots of vit c rich veggies and they have unlimited grass and hay. I did feed my pigs on this but found a few little piggy's weren't eating it all just spreading it around the cage making a mess so I have now changed back to wagg and pellets. Dodson and Horrell make a similar mix which does have vit c in and is specifically for piggy's I have just realised you are a fellow Bristolian Hello

Rabbit food would be ok in an emergency, but some rabbit food does have a chemical added to it that in large quantities is harmful to guinea pigs, so if at all possible I would switch to a feed manufactured for Guinea pigs. Charnwood pellets is the one we use and they are very good - not sure if they would be available in your area. If you do decide to change, do it gradually by mixing the old food with the new food

I used to feed my pigs on Rabbit Royale but they started to go off it after two bags, so I changed them to a pellet feed. See the website here: www.chudleys.com/products/pet/rabbit/Rabbit Royale is also suitable for Guinea Pigs, but as their nutritional requirements differ slightly from rabbits, a vitamin C supplement should be added to their water.

Thanks for the advice everyone, I'll switch them over once I get to the bottom of the bag of Rabbit Royale, don't want to do it right away as they've got enough changes going on in their little lives haven't they.
Lisa, I take it you're in Bristol too? I'm originally from Cornwall, but have been up here since 1984 so over half my life now. I like it as got the best of both worlds - the city and countryside very close by.

I have fed this in the past, but prefer to feed them their own food. What Doris is referring too is ACS pellets which is a pellet food. They don't tend to be in rabbit mixes but in bag there it is clearly referred too on the packaging. It is not in Chudleys.
