Not the most Pig related, but I had a rabbit once who had over-growing teeth that would cut into his lip and curl out, allowing him only to drink water. Is this able for cavies?

Piggys can get over grown teeth if they aren't fed the correct diet, because they are grazers they need a constant supply of hay to munch on and then their veggies and pellets or dry mix this should help to keep teeth in tip top condition oh and of course fresh grass if they are able to get out on it or you can bring it to them

Its not hugely common, but can and does happen in cavies. The front teeth can over grow, which we can see, but also they have 16 other teeth at the back that we can't see without special equipment which can over grow as well.

This happened to one of my guinea pigs many years ago. Her teeth grew so that one was shredding her tongue, and the other was shredding her cheek. I believe the solution was surgery of some sort, but as I was a child at the time I have no idea what the surgery was, and she died anyway.
