So sad

The current knowledge levels of many pet shops is still dangerously inadequate, as is in evidence here. I'm wondering how in just 7/8 weeks she had teeth so badly grown out of ratio and it leads me to believe she may not have been in good health at the time of purchase. Not only that but she was clearly pregnant in the pet shop. I don't think certain pet shops realise the distress they cause by not properly caring for their livestock, not just for the animals but also for the new owners who suffer the loss of the pet later on. I would be tempted to find out which shop it is and quietly scout them out, because if their guinea pigs are looking unwell before anyone has purchased them, then I think they need at least a good talking to - and depending on the severity of the health issues there, I would also contact the RSPCA. Obviously there are some really wonderful pet shops out there that know exactly what they're doing, but this type of cowboy pet shop just makes me so angry.
