Well, since I have had Pumba his nails really haven't grown. I have only cut themtwice since we found him. They never get long though. They are alwyas very short. His feet never look like they have bled or been injured though.
Any ideas?

How long have you had him, how old is he, and what sort of floor surfaces does he run on?

We found him two Winters ago, so, uh, a little over a year maybe. Not sure on his age since he was found. We usually have him on softish surfaces. Blankets, The couch, grass, and his bedding.

What colour are they? Black or white?
Black grow very slow, while white grow like weeds!!

Actually they are white. :/ That is unusual then, because all our piggies with white nails I have to cut every few weeks.

I find it also depends on the breed for some reason. In my experience, Rex have thick nails that grow like mad, and Abyssinians have slender nails that don't grow quickly at all. I guess Pumba is an Abyssinian or has Aby in him, so it may be that's why his nails don't grow a lot.

I like to keep a flat piece of stone in my hutches. In between the living ad sleeping ends in the traditional hutches and its great for keeping nails down. To be honest I've not kept check on who grows when. Always trim as and when.

We used to keep a brick in Biscuits (RIP) cage - i never saw him walk on it other than so he could look out of the window and be nosey lol
