I used Carefresh under the hay for a month or so before I found a supplier of megazorb which is what my Rescue Centre recommended - see under that! But I quite like Carefresh, except for the price for the amount got through! (and you cant get a big sack which means 6 plastic bags every month)

I'm currently back to Carefresh as my megazorb has run out and I missed my new suppliers' delivery round by about a minute this week, so due next week some time.
Carefresh is very nice, smells nice, dust free, good to handle, very absorbent, and very expensive! I mean £3.49 for a small bag which lasts me less than a week even if I just do the corners and beds where they wee most - if I did my whole cage I would need two or more bags for starters then one or two more to top up in the week. I think if you've got a small cage or piggies that use their litter trays it would be very good, but compare the cost with megazorb and there's no contest. But it's stocked in lots of places in an emergency!

put it in tonight after i washed the cage out was dissapointed how little it covered for a small bag, however i put the whole lot in there cage, they were looking at it like what is that, i did put newpaper underneath as usual. so will see and report back.

I wanted to test Carefresh to write up on it on this site, but I also noticed how tiny the bags are. I don't suppose one bag would do a 2ft x 4ft hutch would it? I'll have a rummage around the garden centre and see if my friend can get some in for me to try.

We've got some that our degus are on at the moment (was given it because our friends gerbil didn't like it and spent most of her time throwing it out of her cage )). I've looked on the web and it says that it comes in 10 litre bags, and that you only seem to be able to buy it in multiples of these. We've not tried it on guineas but I think it would cost too much to have them all on.

I reckon one bag would do a 2ft by 2ft cage.....

i definately notice a difference in the smell in the room with carefresh its much better jackie Sounds good to me! However since all of our piggies are in the shed now I don't much mind how they smell. Does the Carefresh seem to have a nice smell of its own or does it just neutralise the piggy smells?

Ooh, I don't know, I can't say i've noticed that carefresh itself smells. I'll stick my head in the bag of it later and let you know!
